This year the 8th Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2009 is scheduled to be from 12 - 14 June 2009 in honor of the Musical Talents of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and to celebrate the occasion of Hua Hin 100th Anniversary with the Hua Hin Green Jazz concept. The organizer plans to set two stages. The one will be in front of Sofitel Central Resort whereas another in the Phon Kingpetch Memorial Park. Moreover, at the Hua Hin train station, there will be an exhibition to commemorate His Majesty the King and his ability of jazz, according to Mr. Pisit Sutareerat, Deputy Governor of Prachuabkhirikhan.
The Hua Hin Jazz Festival draws thousands of visitors to enjoy local and international bands on stages in a mellow sunny seaside setting. Other activities on offer include jazz workshops, local food stalls, product sales, games and lucky draws.

Hua Hin is approximately 220 km from Bangkok and is noted for being the country’s first beach resort discovered by royalty and nobility in the post war years when the only feasible way to reach its golden beaches was by steam train.
Today, it is popular beach town with more than its far share of five-star hotels.
All performances during the three-day festival are free and continue from 15:30 until midnight.
Last year the event was a huge success drawing thousands of visitors to Hua Hin Jazz Festival over the weekend.

Banyan Golf Club Hua Hin
The Grand Opening of Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin took place on Friday, 20th February 2009. It was a perfect summer’s day with clear skies and immaculate golf course conditions. The proceedings began with serving an English breakfast to all participants followed by speeches and a ribbon cutting ceremony in a marquee at the driving range. Mr. Jan Arie van Barneveld, representing the Board of Investors and Owners of Banyan Estate & Golf Club, Hua Hin opened up the grand opening speeches followed by Khun Panchai Bawornratanpran, Governor of Prachuabkirikhan who is supporting the Banyan Estate and Golf Club, Hua
Hin project as it’s a significant contribution to the destination of Hua Hin and Thailand. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, former European PGA Tour Professional and world renown trick shot artist Mr. Noel Hunt performed a fantastic trick shot show to all before the days competion.
Guests were paired up in two person scamble teams, first team representing International golfers and capitianed by local Scottish Professional and former Asian Touring Pro Kenny Walker, while the second team comprised of Thai Nationals capitianed by local golfing star and current Asian & European touring Pro Prom Meesawat. Dubbed "Thailand Vs Rest of the World 2-Ball Scramble Golf Competition". Showing he is in good form Professional Prom Meesawat and playing partner opened the first nine with 5-birdies which jump started the Thai Nationals to a 16 to 8 victory over the Internations.
The prize giving dinner took place at the Terrace restaurant and we were pleasantly entertained by the Classical Bangkok Philharmonic Orchestra. There were many prizes awarded on the evening and a lucky draw for charity. One of the main prizes was a set of Cobra FP irons and golf bag which was won by a local hotel manager. The finale of fireworks ended a very special and historical day in the Grand Opening of Banyan Golf Club, Hua Hin.

Hua Hin Golf Festival August - September
The 7th Annual Hua Hin/Cha Am Golf Festival is set to kick off August 1st. As in years past the Golf Festival features the lowest green fees of the year with all major courses offering green fees at 800 Baht plus caddie fees of 250 Baht. for the month of August. This year all the courses with the exception of Springfield Royal have extended the Golf Festival thru to end of September.
Every Sunday one of the courses will host a tournament for 1,200 Baht which includes green fee, caddie fee, dinner and prizes. Check out our schedule of events link on our web page www.huahingolf.com for dates and times for each event.
