We are entering our summer with midday temperatures hovering around 33C and dropping to 25C at night. The cooling sea breeze is very welcome.  The weather is perfect for golf.

Majestic Creek:

A great layout!  Well worth the visit.

As from 1st March 2014 the club will not accept bookings for specific caddies.   If a particular caddie is your preference, call the pro shop and ask for the caddie's telephone number and book direct with the caddie.

Work is being carried out on the greens which are in poor condition.

Reservations:   Efficiently handled.

Registration:    Frustratingly slow.  You need to buy drinks coupons as cash is not accepted at the drinks kiosks on the course.

Clubhouse:      Smart newly renovated pro shop and restaurant.  Locker rooms need attention.

Course:          Course C is now closed for renovation.

Played courses A & B on 31st January 2014.   Both courses are in excellent condition but the greens, newly laid, are hard and non-receptive.   The greens are deceptively quick.

Extensive work has been carried out on the course.

Courses A & B has been revamped and the greens relaid with TifEagle grass.  They are much quicker than previously.

Restaurant:       Open-air restaurant serving a full range of food and drinks.  Good value.

General:           The owners are spending a lot of money to improve the standard of the course and the service provided.  All the indications are that things are moving in the right direction.  This is a golf club "reborn" and needs time to re-establish itself.   Attention to detail will undoubtedly become more apparent as management and staff become more experienced.

We carried out a full inspection of the course and facilties during February 2014.

The course is in superb condition.

Reservations:  Simple, politely and efficiently handled.

Clubhouse:     5-star quality with friendly, attentive staff.

Course:          As near to perfect as is possible.

Restaurant:     First class menu with food that matches the high quality of the club.  Excellent, attentive but not intrusive service.

General:         This must be one of the top courses in the country.   It is professionally managed and attention given to detail that is sadly lacking at some other clubs.

Black Mountain:

We played the course during February 2014..  The course is in excellent condition.

Reservations:   Efficiently and politely handled.

Clubhouse:       Modern and excellent facilities.

Course:            Superb and in mint condition.

Restaurant:       Excellent food from an extensive menu.

General:           A very popular course and best played midweek.

Restaurant price guide:  Meatball sandwich and coffee = Baht 250.

Palm Hills:

We played the course during February 2014..  Following some steady rainfall, the course is greener.   The greens remain fast and tricky to read - a good caddie helps!

The restaurant service was efficient and the prices reasonable.

Reservations:   Efficiently and politely handled.

Clubhouse:      Beautiful but looking tired.

Course:           Quite short but a good layout.

Restaurant:      Indoor and outdoor seating.  Good menu and reasonably priced.

General:           The course is very quiet.  Many experienced caddies have left as a result.  A small Heineken beer is Baht 95.

Springfield Royal

We played courses A & B on Saturday, 22nd February 2014.  One comment from a regular guest - "i have never seen Springfield in such perfect condition".

Course A will be closed for renovations from 1st April to 31st July.

The renovations will include:

Installation of new irrigation system around approach areas, and greens.

Re-turfing the approach areas with paspalum grass.

Restoring the greens to their original size.

The courses are in excellent condition.  The greens were perfect - holding and true.

There are many new caddies and training is taking place.

Restaurant price guideTuna sandwich and coffee = Baht 260.

Imperial Lake View

Played courses A & B during February 2014.  Course A is very dry but the greens are excellent.

Reservations:   Efficiently and politely handled.

Clubhouse:       Clean, neat and tidy.

Course:           We were surprised at the hardness of the fairways.  Many times the club bounced rather than creating a divot.

Restaurant:       Open-air seating with a good menu.

General:            Courses A & B have a good layout but the fairways need to be in better condition.

Sea pine

I played this course for the first time on Monday, 24th September 2012.  I was very impressed with the course and clubhouse facilities.  The course was in excellent condition and the last few holes are played along the beach - stunning.   The restaurant has a terrace overlooking the sea and is a great place to enjoy a drink after the round.

Royal Hua Hin

We played the "grand old lady" yesterday, 7th March 2014.   Whist not in the pristine condition of, say, Black Mountain, the course is very playable.  The fairways are OK with some weed but the ground off the fairways is very dry.  The greens are very slow but true.  Those unfamiliar with the course will find the greens hard to read and it is always good to listen to your caddie (most are very experienced).
