Eastern Star was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr and opened in 1993. The course is relatively flat and is referred to as a links course but isn't overly bunkered for a Jones design as there are only 69 bunkers on the entire course with some greens having only one and some have none. It was constructed on an old coconut plantation and does have surrounding sandy terrain so stay within the fairways and rough. The course has a diverse layout of holes incorporating some severe doglegs and also some dead straight away holes. There is one par 5 that is barely 500 yards and one that almost reaches 600.

As in all Jones courses the more thought you put into your approach of each hole the more you will be rewarded. The course can be testing as it measures over 7100 from the tips but four sets of tees shortens it to 5550 yards.
